All About the Free Tasting and Some Art Too

I'm not a brewery and winery gal normally, just not much of a drinker.  However, I thought maybe tasting some hard liquor at Door County Distillery might be more to my liking.  Turns out drinking shots of vodka is not something my taste buds approved of.

Katrina thinks it's hilarious to watch me attempt drinking.  Wayne enjoyed taking the pictures of all the faces I made as I tried to finish the whole shot.

Wayne bought some of the vodka and then the rest of the gang moved over to the Door Peninsula Winery which is in the same building and sampled their wines.  At Joe and Katrina's urging I took a tiny sip of a few wines.  I just don't get it.  It all tastes like sour grapes and vinegar to me.

However, there were some samples for me to enjoy...sauces and jams! The cherry wine jam was good, maybe next time I'm up there I'll pick up a jar but I already had bought 3 jars of jam while on this trip.

Also at the Winery was an exhibition of art by Donna Brown titled "In Harmony".  The artist is a Bailey's Harbor resident and has a gallery where she sells her nature inspired artwork.

I really enjoyed the variety of work on display, if you're in the area of the winery or her gallery stop in to check out her work!

  1. I'm with you. I live in the heart of California wine country, Sonoma Valley, and don't drink the stuff. I am very popular though with friends. I get to drive the car.

  2. I'm not a wine drinker either, but now moonshine, that's another story. LOL!

  3. Ahhh....I love me a good red blend or merlot. Or a nice dark porter. But I live in wine country and "beertopia." Lots of good wineries and microbreweries in Portland.
