Like many other towns La Crosse has their own version of painted mascots to promote the arts and tourism. The Herons celebrated the 30th Anniversary of The Pump House Regional Arts Center, and The Pump House is selling notecard sets and t-shirts featuring the herons. If you're interested in one of the birds themselves, they were up for auction but I am not aware if there are still any available. For now there are a few around town for vistors to enjoy, these 3 are behind The Pump House, and there were 4 more upstairs in storage, so those might be for sale. Enjoy these, and check out some other public art on Mural Monday if you like.
They are extremely brightly coloured
ReplyDeleteThese are beautifully painted!
ReplyDeleteI like the last one best. Looks like he won't wander away during the night.
ReplyDeleteThe clothes they wear are a fun twist. Reminds me a little of those traveling art shows where cows and elephants are given unique decorations. It must be fun to find all the ones the town has to offer. I'm surprised they want to sell any of them. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteLiking those herons, so colourful
ReplyDeleteLove your blogs on murals! I always find them interesting no matter what part of the country.
