Like No Udder

I met up with an old high school friend who lives in northern Wisconsin a few weeks back for a short hike near Timm's Hill, the tallest point in Wisconsin.

Was she always so tall?  Was I always so short?

I was a week late for peak color, and most of it had blown off the trees, but the golden carpet was nice all the same.

Timms Hill has an elevation of 1,951.5 feet, and I guess that last foot is important when you're talking about laughable numbers like those.  Stop your giggling, mountain followers, we do the best we can out here.

In addition to a variety of trails, including the Ice Age Trail, the county park has a lake for fishing, swimming and picnics.

Also located along the edge of the lake is the Hill of Beans coffee shop and cafe.  I haven't dined there but Lori says it's great! They are open Tuesday through Sunday from 8am-3pm and are open late on Fridays until 8pm.  If you're coming to stay there are also cabins available to rent.

After leaving to continue along my way I spotted this along Highway 13.  You never know what you'll see in Wisconsin!
