West Allis Post Office Mural

I searched out this pair of panels painted by Frances Foy in 1943 at the West Allis post office in October. They featured Wisconsin wildflowers, which was nice to see now that they are all done for the year.

“Wisconsin Wild Flowers – Spring” is above and I certainly can pick out Pink Lady Slipper, Lupine, Meadow Rue, Marsh Marigold, Blue Flag Iris, Spiderwort, Mayapple and Columbine.

The second panel is titled “Wisconsin Wild Flowers – Autumn” and here I spy Pearly Everlasting, Goldenrod, Pyrola, Shooting Star, Turk's Cap Lily and Yellow Prairie Coneflower.  Notice in the first panel there is a single dandelion next to the girl kneeling on the ground and in the second panel the dandelion has gone to seed!  Lovely detail!

I purposely left a few for you to name if you can!

Tomorrow is Election Day here in the U.S., get out and vote because your vote makes a difference.

Linking up to Monday Mural.
